Gentry Locke cordially invites you to attend an exclusive, limited-space workshop, PCA: Facts, Fiction, and the Future of Food Safety. This working session will be the first opportunity to hear directly from the lawyers who represented Stewart Parnell throughout the 2009 recall, five years of investigations and inquiries, and through the two-month jury trial in Georgia in 2014. We have carefully tailored this workshop to provide real-world, practical strategies to combat the growing threat of food safety-related legal actions.
When: Friday, May 15, 2015 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
Where: Belmond Charleston Place in Charleston, SC
Cost: $2,500 per attendee
Cocktail reception to follow

Agenda
Anatomy of a Recall: What to Expect in a Recall – An in-depth discussion of how to manage inquiries from the Centers for Disease Control, the FDA, state departments of agriculture, the FBI, the Department of Justice, Congress, and the media. Analysis and discussion of what to expect during a recall, how to manage risk and strategies for limiting exposure.
Constructing a Case: Your Company Documents at Work Against You – A detailed presentation of the government’s strategies for constructing a case against owners and upper management. How mundane, ordinary documents can be used in unimaginable ways to impute liability, criminal and otherwise. We will walk through best practices for corporate executives/owners to manage such risk.
Insurance Strategies for Coping with the Risk of Recalls and Government Investigations – Do you have enough coverage? Do you have the right coverage? Hear from an expert insurance broker on the types and amounts of insurance that were needed in the PCA case and could make the difference between bankruptcy or preserving family and corporate assets.
Future of Enforcement – Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-VT) was clear in stating “I want people to go to jail” in relation to the 2009 PCA recall. The PCA case has, and will continue to, embolden federal and state authorities into pursuing criminal liability in food safety cases. Companies in the food industry are faced not only with strict liability criminal exposure, but face a tangible threat of felony criminal prosecution of upper management and owners.
Discussion/Q&A: We will address the most pressing questions and issues your company faces today. An open, frank discussion about the issues that interest you most.
