  • From your dials above, you seem to have a lot of hobbies - tell us about them!

I love to cook - baking in particular. I am a massive fan of cookies and apple pie, and can often be seen hauling them to my grandparents’ house to pawn off the extras. I also play piano and am trying (and failing) to teach myself guitar now. I also like to write, draw, and paint.

  • You're originally from the Roanoke region. Are you happy to be working near your hometown?

Absolutely. I grew up in Franklin County, so I'm very familiar with the Roanoke Valley. I chose to attend Washington and Lee University for law school mainly because of the proximity to my hometown and family – both of which hold a special place in my heart.

  • Is it safe to say you have your hands full with two large and boisterous dogs in your house?

Very safe. I have one lab mix, Bourbon, and one Dutch shepherd, Hennessy. There’s a funny story behind how I ended up with Bourbon. At first, my plan was to get one small dog – a Shiba Inu – and had already put a deposit down for one. I already had a cat and thought a smaller dog would allow me to maintain some semblance of order in my apartment. When shopping for puppy toys, I ran into a PetsMart adoption event. I met this chunky eight-week old lab puppy with huge paws and fell in love. Now he and his sister both fly me like a kite on walks, while the cat glares at me from the window in disapproval. I wouldn't have it any other way!
