How did you end up in Richmond?
I’m originally from Roanoke and went to college in Austin, Texas. After graduation, I moved to Los Angeles where I worked for about four years. Ultimately, my husband and I knew we wanted to end up back on the East Coast. Richmond checked all the boxes – it has a great mix of history and culture, plenty of good food, and we love being closer to family. Honestly, I never imagined I’d land back in Virginia, but Richmond ended up being exactly what we were looking for.

What is your favorite thing to do when you’re not working?
I love spending time with my husband and our two dogs, Roo and Cashew. We love to get out and explore all of the nature Richmond has to offer, whether it’s kayaking on the James or a day trip to the mountains. We’re always on the hunt for new spots around town. I’m also big into trying workout classes or experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen. And because I was a film major, I can never resist watching a good movie or TV show.

If you had chosen a career other than law, what would you be doing?
Before law school, I worked in Los Angeles as a casting producer for unscripted television, which was such a fun and unpredictable job. Every day was different. I’d be working on a new show, speaking to people from all walks of life, and getting to hear their stories. If I hadn’t gone down the legal path, I think I’d still be in that world. It combined creativity with people skills in a way that kept things exciting and gave me some pretty unique experiences.
