David Weaver has more than 40 years of experience guiding clients through complex domestic relations matters. Widely regarded as one of Virginia’s leading family law attorneys, he is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. David regularly advises clients on premarital planning and marital agreements and has extensive experience resolving complex issues involving asset and property division, business valuations, spousal and child support, custody and visitation disputes, protective orders, and multi-jurisdictional family law matters.
David founded the Weaver Law Firm in 2004, a boutique practice dedicated exclusively to complex domestic relations cases for more than 22 years. Prior to that, David spent nearly two decades at Gentry Locke and previously served for more than 30 years in the U.S. Navy Judge Advocate General’s Corps, retiring as a Captain. He currently serves as an Adjunct Professor of Law at Washington and Lee University School of Law, where he teaches the Advanced Family Law Practicum. He has been named Roanoke Family Law “Lawyer of the Year” by Best Lawyers multiple times and has been recognized by Virginia Super Lawyers and Virginia Business Legal Elite for his distinguished work in family law.
