Gentry Locke Partner Justin M. Lugar Receives Chappell-Morris Award from American College of Trial Lawyers
ROANOKE, VA (June 20, 2016) – The Virginia law firm of Gentry Locke is pleased to announce that Justin M. Lugar, a partner in our Criminal & Government Investigations group, has been awarded the 2016 Chappell-Morris Award by the Virginia Chapter of American College of Trial Lawyers. Recipients are selected based upon their demonstrated professionalism, high ethical and moral standards, excellent character, and outstanding trial skills.
The Chappell-Morris Award was first announced in 2012 and is awarded every other year. Recipients of the Award are selected after a confidential vetting process that includes a case history review and interviews with the candidate’s opposing counsel and presiding judges. Justin was one of two recipients to be presented the award at the Virginia State Bar’s Annual Meeting on June 18, 2016 in Virginia Beach, Va.
Justin joined Gentry Locke’s Litigation practice group in 2012 after working as an associate at a law firm in London, UK, where he focused on criminal investigations and international arbitration. At Gentry Locke, he represents individuals and corporations in criminal and government investigations, as well as internal investigations, regulatory, and general commercial disputes.
Justin earned his undergraduate degree at UVA, his law degree from Liberty University, and later earned an LLM in Dispute and Conflict Resolution, with Distinction, at the University of London.
The Virginia State Committee of the American College of Trial Lawyers established the Chappell-Morris Award for young lawyers. The award is given to a young lawyer who is licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Virginia for the purpose of promoting the goals of the American College of Trial Lawyers to maintain and improve the standards of trial practice, the administration of justice, and ethics of the profession.
