Gentry Locke Welcomes Attorney Kirk M. Sosebee to our Roanoke Office

ROANOKE, VA (June 27, 2016) – Attorney Kirk M. Sosebee has joined the Virginia law firm of Gentry Locke, where he will be working in the Construction Litigation section of the Commercial Litigation group. Additionally, Kirk will assist individuals with False Claims Act and Qui Tam/Whistleblower actions.

Prior to joining Gentry Locke, Kirk was an associate at a large firm in Washington, DC, where he represented clients in a wide range of commercial litigation and Sosebee_headshotarbitration matters, including an ICC arbitration, cases involving the False Claims Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act, the Sherman Antitrust Act, and questions of sovereign immunity for State agencies.

Kirk received his undergraduate degree in 2010 from Patrick Henry College, where he majored in Government and was Student Body Vice-President in his senior year. He earned his law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law in 2014. Kirk competed on the Extramural Moot Court Team in the National Religious Freedom competition, and was awarded “Best Oralist” in the Legal Research and Writing Moot Court, 1L section. Kirk also served on the Editorial Board of the Virginia Journal of Social Policy & the Law.

While in law school, Kirk was a legal research assistant for the University of Virginia School of Law’s Supreme Court Litigation Clinic, where he conducted research on employment discrimination issues for a petitioner’s brief in an employment discrimination case at the United States Supreme Court, and reviewed petitions for filing with the Court.

Prior to entering law school, Kirk was an assistant project manager and estimator for a Virginia building company, where he assisted in preparing bids and managing large construction projects. In 2008, he interned at the Hall County District Attorney’s Office in Gainesville, Georgia, where he catalogued evidence and documents for use in trial and assisted attorneys with trial preparation.
