Gentry Locke Partner Matt W. Broughton Inducted into the Virginia Law Foundation Fellows Class of 2026

ROANOKE, Va. (January 27, 2026) – The Virginia law firm Gentry Locke is pleased to announce that partner Matt W. Broughton has been inducted into the Virginia Law Foundation Fellows Class of 2026. Inductees were formally honored at the Virginia Law Foundation’s annual dinner on January 22 at the Williamsburg Lodge.

The Fellows program recognizes Virginia attorneys who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, professional excellence, and dedication to advancing the legal profession and their communities.

Broughton leads Gentry Locke’s Plaintiff/Personal Injury practice and serves on the firm’s Executive Board. With more than thirty-nine years of experience trying hundreds of complex cases, including personal injury matters, trucking accidents, traumatic brain injuries, and aviation accidents, he is widely recognized across the Commonwealth for his legal skill, strategic advocacy, and client-focused approach.

Bringing a rare depth of real-world experience to his practice, Broughton is a licensed tractor-trailer driver holding a Class A commercial driver’s license and an ATP-rated pilot. This firsthand knowledge enhances his ability to represent clients in complex transportation and aviation-related litigation.

“Matt’s decades of experience, trial abilities, and real-world insight set him apart as one of Virginia’s premier advocates,” said Managing Partner, K. Brett Marston. “This honor recognizes not only his professional achievements, but also his dedication to advancing the practice of law and serving others.”

Broughton joins a group of current and former Gentry Locke attorneys who have been inducted as Fellows, including: Partner Carlos L. Hopkins (Class of 2025); Partner Chip (John G.) Dicks (Class of 2020); Managing Partner K. Brett Marston (Class of 2019); Partner Thomas J. Bondurant, Jr. (Class of 2015); Partner W. David Paxton (Class of 2014); Partner Bruce C.
