On September 25, 2019, Gentry Locke Employment Law Partner Paul Klockenbrink co-presented at ALFA International’s Labor & Employment Regional Seminar. The panel, which included two other ALFA firm attorneys, covered non-compete agreements. These agreements have been under attack by a number of Courts and Legislatures in recent times. The panel discussed current judicial and legislative trends with non-competes, and offered insights and strategies to ensure the enforceability of these provisions in light of those trends.

On September 25, 2019 Gentry Locke Partner Bill Gust will speak at the September conference of the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of The ESOP Association. Attendees will learn about “Indemnification, Insurance and ESOPs: Trends and Considerations for External and Internal ESOP Fiduciaries.”

On August 8, 2019 Partner Cate Huff will be part of an interactive panel discussing techniques for successful mediation at the 2019 Hospitality & Retail Law Practice Group Seminar in Seattle, Washington.

On August 9, 2019 Partner Paul Klockenbrink will speak about “What to Do in the Age of #MeToo” during the 2019 Hospitality & Retail Law Practice Group Seminar in Seattle, Washington.

Summer 2019, Robert Chambliss Light, Jr. will teach a three-hour course on Land Use and Zoning as Adjunct Professor at Liberty University Law School.

On July 16, 2019 Gentry Locke Partner Kevin Holt gave the plenary session lecture on professionalism in one’s dealings with other lawyers.

On July 19, 2019 Gentry Locke Partner Bill Gust will make a presentation before attendees of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) in Chicago, Illinois. The title of the presentation is “ESOPs: An Objective Overview of the Construction Industry.”

On May 15, 2019 Gentry Locke Partner Chip Dicks presented a legislative update on the 2019 General Assembly to members of the Northern Virginia Apartment Association. The meeting was held in Arlington, Virginia.

On May 10, 2019 Gentry Locke Partner Nick Leitch was a panelist at the Virginia Association of Defense Attorneys (VADA) Spring Meeting in Staunton, Virginia.  The topic was Ethical Advocacy in Mediation. Nick was joined by one other attorney and two retired judges.
