Gentry Locke Adds Five New Associates to the Firm

ROANOKE Va. (December 5, 2025) – The Virginia law firm Gentry Locke is pleased to announce that Kiara P. Anguiano, Emily E. Brooks, Haley J. Cerretani, J. Cole Gayle, and Carter B. Leverette, have joined the firm as Associates.

“We are pleased to welcome this exceptional group of young attorneys who have already been a part of the Gentry Locke team as summer associates during their law school tenures,” said Gentry Locke Managing Partner Brett Marston. “They each bring unique experiences and enthusiasm to the firm, and we are excited to see them begin their legal careers at Gentry Locke.”

Anguiano is a member of the firm’s Commercial Litigation practice group. Prior to joining the firm as an attorney, Kiara worked as a Summer Associate with Gentry Locke before graduating from the University of Richmond School of Law. While in law school, Kiara worked as a Legal Intern for the Community Tax Law Project in Richmond. She was also the founder of the Latin American and Hispanic Law Organization, an executive member of the Trial Advocacy Board, and a member of the Negotiation and Alternative Dispute Resolution Board. Kiara received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Modern Languages and Cultures from Virginia Military Institute and she is a native Spanish speaker.

Brooks is a member of the firm’s General Commercial practice group. Prior to joining the firm as an attorney, Emily worked as a Summer Associate with Gentry Locke before graduating from the Washington and Lee University School of Law. While in law school, Emily served as a Lead Articles Editor and Staff Writer for the Washington and Lee Law Review. Emily was also a member of the Women’s Law School Organization, Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, and First Generation Student Union. During her time in Lexington, Emily participated in the school’s Parole Advocacy Practicum and worked as a legal intern for a local law group. Emily received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminology and Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.

Cerretani is a member of the firm’s General Commercial practice group. Prior to joining the firm as an attorney, Haley worked as a Summer Associate with Gentry Locke before graduating from the University of Richmond School of Law. While in law school, Haley worked as a legal intern for Truist, Capital One, and Dominion Energy in Richmond. Haley also served as a staff member of the University of Richmond Law Review and community chair of Richmond Women’s Law. Haley received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Radio, Television, and Film from the University of Texas at Austin.

Gayle is a member of the firm’s Commercial Litigation practice group. Prior to joining the firm as an attorney, Cole worked as a Summer Associate with Gentry Locke before graduating from the Washington and Lee University School of Law. While in law school, Cole worked as a judicial intern to Chief Judge W. Reilly Marchant. Prior to law school, he was a legal assistant and paralegal for The Consumer Law Group. Cole’s practice will focus on general commercial litigation matters. Cole received his J.D. from the Washington and Lee University School of Law and his undergrad degree from Hampden-Sydney College.

Leverette is a member of the firm’s Commercial Litigation group. Prior to joining the firm as an attorney, Carter worked as a Summer Associate with Gentry Locke. He also worked as a Summer Legal Intern for Liberty University’s Office of Legal Affairs. Carter earned his J.D. from Liberty University School of Law, where he was the Law Review Submissions Editor, Moot Court Board Hospitality Coordinator, and Alternative Dispute Resolution Board Member. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Public Policy & Administration with a Minor in Criminal Justice from James Madison University.
