On July 15, 2017, attendees at the Virginia Transportation Construction Alliance’s Annual Conference learned about “Doing Business Together – Ten Things to Consider Before You Sign,” a joint presentation by Gentry Locke attorneys Brett Marston and Andrew Gay, and Billy Robinson of Brown Edwards CPAs. The event took place at The Omni Homestead in Hot Springs, Virginia. The VTCA is the leading advocate and only state association exclusively dedicated to serving the contractors, aggregate producers, engineers, suppliers and service providers who design, build and maintain Virginia’s transportation network.

Employment and Student Conduct Legal Issues College Administrators Should Know

On June 15, 2017, Brown Edwards held its annual seminar for private colleges and not-for-profit organizations. Gentry Locke partner Todd Leeson was invited to speak in a presentation entitled: “Employment and Student Conduct Legal Issues College Administrators Should Know.” Todd educated college administrators on issues including sexual misconduct under Title IX, union organizing, rights of LGBTQ persons, violence on campus, and upcoming priorities for the Office of Civil Rights (OCR) and the EEOC in the Trump Administration.

Legislative Libations: Summary of the 2017 General Assembly Session for the AGCVA

Spencer specifically addressed the bills the AGCVA monitored, supported or opposed, and provided an update on how those bills ended up — whether killed, vetoed, or voted into Law.
