Max Wiegard is Chair of Gentry Locke’s Environmental Law practice group. Max’s practice is focused primarily on assisting clients in connection with environmental, real estate, land use and zoning, mergers, acquisitions, and business and commercial matters. Representing clients in environmental litigation, administrative proceedings, environmental compliance and permitting matters, environmental enforcement actions, contaminated site transactions, brownfield redevelopment and adaptive land reuse matters, real estate transactions and litigation, and zoning and land use proceedings. Max is licensed to practice in Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia.

  • If you had chosen a different career path, what would it have been?

    Medicine. I thought about a career in orthopaedics, mainly because I spent so much time in those offices as a kid. After serving as vice-chair of my university’s Judiciary Committee, I discovered that I loved serving others in that capacity and my path was set.

  • How do you spend time away from the office?

    I like to be outdoors. Mountain biking and fly fishing are favorites.

  • What is the most important step in your morning routine that you try to never skip?

    Walking my school-age daughter to the bus stop.
